Visitor Centre and Exhibition
The visitor centre is situated outside the cemetery on Paul-Denis-Straße. The single-storey pavilion, constructed using a timber frame and steel structure, was designed by the architectural practice Holzer Kobler Architekturen (Berlin/Zurich) and features an exhibition space measuring around 80 square metres.
The permanent exhibition vividly conveys the significance of the SchUM sites, placing particular emphasis on the role of Magenza as the Mother Community of ShUM.
A plateau has been created in front of the visitor centre, which can be used as a place to linger and offers a good view of a large part of the cemetery grounds.
